Feature comedy The Club is the rugby equivalent of Dodgeball, telling the story of a man who knows nothing about sport but has inherited a struggling rugby club only he can save. The team are casting three female roles: Breeda, 20–41 and any ethnicity – the feisty bar manager; Aiko, 23–41, any ethnicity, the strong and flirty wife of the lead; and Fiona, 18–40, any ethnicity – a physio who’s fought her way to success. A team in Yorkshire are casting for a scripted mockumentary and seeking a female, playing ages 28–37, and any ethnicity to play the role of a mother. You’ll be speaking to the camera about your troubled child, with cutaways of the family together. Short film The Bookshelf follows an assassin who finds himself considering a job opportunity from the man he’s sent to kill. David is male, playing age 20–35, and any ethnicity. He doesn’t show emotion, despite his job causing him a lot of stress. He’s stealthy and skilful, but with a moral centre. Lawrence is male, playing age 40–55, and any ethnicity. Well-educated, persuasive, and cunning, he pretends to be unfazed by a man paid to kill him but really is desperate to save his skin. The project shoots March–April 2021, with exact dates to be confirmed. Roles are paid £80 per day, with travel and expenses provided. The team are seeking performers based in or near London. Comedy short casting in Wales
Comedy-drama Ashmouth follows Rex, a man on a mission to avenge the mistreatment he suffered as a child, but at risk of losing his best friend in the process. Rex is male, playing age 22–27, and any ethnicity. A Welshman, he’s a loner who’s emotionally distant and suffering in silence. Angered easily, he’s not seen his father for 14 years, though the effects of his chaotic childhood haunt him daily. Ollie is male, 22–27, and any ethnicity. Relentlessly optimistic, he’s friendly to the point of naive, a bit of a pushover, and Rex’s best mate. The project rehearses and shoots in early or mid-February 2021. Locations include Llangain and Llansteffan, but one day of filming may be in Cardiff. Roles are paid £9 per hour, plus travel expenses and the team are seeking performers based in mid or south Wales.
