London Casting: Male and Female Roles Available in Adults-Only Pantomime ‘A Lad in Soho’

Hello and welcome to one of our shoutouts for projects casting around the U.K. As always there’s a mix of opportunities for all ages, abilities, and locations but do remember to check if you fit the bill before applying. “A Lad in Soho”

London’s adults-only pantomime “A Lad in Soho” is looking for actors and performers with superb comic timing to be part of a world where audience participation is compulsory.

Leading role, Aladdin, is for male talent, aged 18–30. The team is looking for a “fresh faced” and energetic actor with boy band looks and a great physique. You’ll need to be a strong singer with a pop or musical theater sound and you’ll need to be able to move well.

Washee is the comic lead or “front man” of the show. He’s for male talent, aged 25–65. You’ll need to be mischievous, funny, and able to work the audience. Some singing ability and previous stand-up experience is preferred.

The Genie is for a male actor, aged 25–65. The team is looking for a character actor with “bags of energy and personality” and with some technical skills to take on basic stage management.

Widow Wankey is for male talent, aged 25–60. A strong actor, ideally you’ll have played a panto Dame before.

The multi-role female part needs talent, aged 18–45. The roles require a strong actor and excellent mover for dance numbers.

“A Lad in Soho” rehearses from Dec. 3–13, primarily in the evenings. The show runs  at The Sanctum Hotel Soho from Dec. 14–23 with the possibility of adding extra dates after Dec. 27.

Pay is TBD but will be Equity Minimum or above.
