London Casting: Play a Lead or Supporting Role in Short Film ‘The Baby’

Hello and welcome to one of our shoutouts for projects casting around the U.K. As always there’s a mix of opportunities for all ages, abilities, and locations but do remember to check if you fit the bill before applying. Short film “The Baby” follows a young woman as she realises what she assumed about an older woman isn’t even close to the truth. There are a selection of roles for men and women.

For lead Alex, the team is looking for a female, aged 27–33, of African descent. Alex has a neutral English accent but her family is from West Africa. Co-lead Michelle is for a female, aged 37–44. She is white with a neutral English accent.

Supporting roles include Ben, for a male, aged 40–49. He is a parent in the park, along with his wife and child. Minimum height for this role is 5’9”, and there is no dialogue required. His wife, Jane, is to be played by a female actor, aged of 35–43, of African descent. Again, no dialogue is required.

Lastly, the team is looking for a kidnapper. He should be a white male, aged 40–49, and a minimum height of 5’9”. No dialogue is required for the role.

“The Baby” shoots June 29, July 6, and one evening TBC during the week beginning July 2. All filming takes place in London and the production pays NLW for the hours worked, as well as meals and a contribution towards travel.
