UK actors, crew, and creators – here’s the lowdown on what’s filming big and small across the country. Stay in the loop and be sure to check back every week for projects currently in production in the UK with Backstage’s What’s Filming reporting.

Some filming-related havoc is taking place in Wales with, in fact, Netflix’s Havoc.

The new project, starring Tom Hardy, has caused recent closures on Cardiff’s Bute and James Streets as crews turned the area into an American winterscape. (Wales Online shared photos ahead of filming of the impressive set modifications made to transform the busy Cardiff streets.)

The streaming project has been filming for months in South Wales and still going strong as of this past week, where Hardy was seen filming. Swansea's Guildhall was also transformed into a US police station recently with police cars parked outside and Hardy spotted on set.

Written and directed by Gareth Evans (Gangs of London), Havoc tells the story of a drug deal gone awry, leading a detective to fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician's estranged son, while untangling his city's dark web of conspiracy and corruption.

In addition to Hardy, Timothy Olyphant, Forest Whitaker, Luis Guzmán, Jessie Mei Li, Richard Harrington, Tom Wu, Richard Pepper, and more will star. (Whitaker had already wrapped filming on the project, sharing photos of his time in “beautiful Wales” on Instagram.) Kelly Valentine Hendry is the casting director for Havoc, which is due out on Netflix next year.
