Casting directors Lucy Bevan (The Batman, Belfast) and Susanne Scheel (The Wife, Love Wedding Repeat) are seeking a tall young male performer for a leading role in a feature directed by the BAFTA-winning actor and filmmaker Andy Serkis.

Best known for playing Gollum in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, Serkis made his directorial debut with 2017’s Breathe and moved into blockbusters with Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle and Venom: Let There Be Carnage.

This next Serkis project is written by Nick Hornby (Oscar nominated for Brooklyn) who is attached to several projects, including the live action adaptation of Roald Dahl’s beloved children’s story James and the Giant Peach.

The title of this particular casting is under wraps but the team are seeking their lead James; male, playing age 16–25, and any ethnicity. You’ll need to be over 6'7" and speak fluent English. James is soulful, charming, mature beyond his years, and has a wry sense of humour. No acting experience is necessary and the casting is open to performers based anywhere in the world.

The project shoots in 2022, location TBD, and the role is paid. Check out the casting notice for more info and to apply now.
