Party like a Gatsby in China this year as the lead in Hong Kong Ballet’s new adaptation of the classic novel “The Great Gatsby.” Plus, the Olivier Award-nominated “Six the Musical” is holding an open call for future replacements, Tinder needs Gen Z talent for a dating video, and a short film is casting its leads. 

Hong Kong Ballet is casting its new ballet adaptation of “The Great Gatsby.” An Asian male actor-dancer, aged 22–38, is wanted to play Nick Carraway. Talent should have a terrific tenor voice and speak with a credible American accent. Rehearsals will take place via Skype and then in person in Hong Kong in November, followed by two performances in Shanghai. Pay is $3,500 with flights, hotel accommodations, and per diem provided. The hit London Olivier Award-nominated “Six the Musical” is seeking talent to attend open auditions. Female or nonbinary talent, aged 18–30, who are excellent singers, dancers, and actors are wanted to play the six wives of Henry VIII. Gigging experience is a plus. Join the cast of “Pure Red,” a thriller short film about a reformed serial killer who rekindles his taste when an art dealer expresses interest in his work. Two actors, aged 24–50, are wanted to play the starring roles of The Artist and The Dealer. Rehearsals will take place on Aug. 4 in Bowling Green, Kentucky, and filming will be from Aug. 5–8.
