Demos
Currently in pre-production, short student comedy film Demos parodies video games to tell the story of one crazy night in the life of gaming fanatic Leonard. Full of witty comedy and expertly created special effects, the team are casting now for the leading role and two supporting characters. Here’s a breakdown:
Leonard is for a male actor of any ethnicity with a playing age of 18–29. He’s an unemployed introvert who loves gaming, still lives with his parents and gets high every day. Despite all that, he’s bright, direct and we see him overcome challenges in a number of scenarios, from playing football in a hotdog costume to attempting to assassinate Trump.
Supporting role Dave is for a male actor of any ethnicity with a playing age of 19–30. Enthusiastic but deluded and naive, he lives in the flat with Leonard and his parents. The team are looking for an actor who can perform a wide range of accents and would love to find someone to build a character like Chabuddy G from People Just Do Nothing.
Day role Police Woman is for a female actor of any ethnicity with a playing age of 18–51. She’s strict, a true law enforcer.
Rehearsals are TBC but the role of Leonard shoots for four days across February to April, with Dave and Police Woman shooting 10 April. Roles pay £50 per day, with food and travel expenses covered.
