Hello and welcome to one of our shoutouts for projects casting around the U.K. As always there’s a mix of opportunities for all ages, abilities, and locations but do remember to check if you fit the bill before applying. Although we make every attempt to verify castings before we hit publish, please ensure that you do your own research before firing off those headshots and Backstage links.

“The Golden Hand”

Short film “The Golden Hand” is a homage to the classic adventure films like “Indiana Jones.” The story follows Professor Jemma Barnes, a scientist and archaeologist who discovers an ancient artefact in Oxfordshire. But with her nemesis just behind her, it’s a race to claim the greatest artefact of all time.

The team is casting the leading role, Jemma. Jemma is for female talent, aged 18–35. An expert on all things ancient, she’s well-travelled, strong-minded, dedicated, and a bit of an egotist.

Her best friend, Ellie Winter, is for a female actor, aged 18–35. She’s an aspiring hairdresser and her “away with the fairies” attitude often annoys Jemma and can put her in danger. She wears heels on adventures, much to Jemma’s annoyance.

Nemesis Harriet Silver is also for a female actor, aged 18 and older. She’s a top scientist who used to work alongside Jemma and she stole her work for the money and fame. Harriet is exceptionally smart and very much a businesswoman who is trying to beat Jemma to the prize that'll make her rich.

“The Golden Hand” is filming this autumn and winter in Oxfordshire. The team is looking for locally-based talent and is able to pay expenses only. Get more information on the roles and film and apply here!
