The Last Day Society
Hackney charity Eastside Educational Trust is working with students, crew and mentors from the BFI to create two short films, an action-comedy and a sci-fi thriller – both casting now.
The Last Day Society is a lo-fi sci-fi drama following Cosima, a young girl trying to deal with the loss of her best friend. Here are the breakdowns:
Cosima is for a female actor with a playing age of 16–20. Of Asian or mixed race, she’s a vulnerable young girl who seeks out help to cope with the loss of a best friend.
Zinnia is female, with a playing age of 16–20 and white. She’s Cosima's charismatic best friend.
Doctor Gardner is female with a playing age of 35–55, of any ethnicity. A therapist, she’s offering counselling to Cosima and is able to use a machine to travel through her memories.
The Last Day Society shoots 17 November and 24 November in and around Shoreditch, London. All roles are paid £15/day.
