Hello and welcome to one of our shoutouts for projects casting around the U.K. As always there’s a mix of opportunities for all ages, abilities, and locations but do remember to check if you fit the bill before applying. Although we make every attempt to verify castings before we hit publish, please ensure that you do your own research before firing off those headshots and Backstage links.

A touring production of “Jack and the Beanstalk” is casting motivated and enthusiastic performers to be part of their 2018-2019 company. The team is looking for the kind of performer who can create a “strong rapport” with the audience, can sing and act, and has dance skills. Previous panto experience, a Devon base and a driving licence are all desired, but not essential.

The lead part, Jack, is for a male, aged 18–35. He is a “cross between the comic and principal boy.” Candidates will need excellent comic timing.

Supporting role Jill is for female talent, aged 18–25. She’s kind, pretty, and innocent.

Fairy Stardust is a female, aged 18–35. This role doubles up as Cow and Ghost for others gags.

Lastly, Fleshcreep is a role for male or female talent, aged 18–35, and is the sparring partner to Fairy Stardust.

Rehearsals run from Nov. 24–Dec. 1 in Newquay. The tour begins on Dec. 3 and runs for six weeks throughout venues in the South West and Midlands, finishing on Jan. 6, 2019. There are no performances on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, or New Year’s Day. Performers must also be able to attend a photo shoot on Nov. 28.

Each role pays £65 per day and accommodation is provided.
