“Enter Achilles”
The acclaimed dance company, DV8, Rambert, and Sadler’s Wells Theatre are teaming up to produce Lloyd Newson’s revival of the classic physical theater work “Enter Achilles.” Set in a typical British pub, this tragicomic exploration of the male psyche features jukebox pop, a blow up doll and an underscore of TV football commentary. Examining the violence hiding behind “blokiness,” the filmed version of the original production is available to watch here.
The team is casting “exceptional” and skilled male contemporary dancers, 18 and older. You’ll need to be fluent in English, have strong acting skills, and the ability to “deliver text convincingly.” Performing in a British accent will be an advantage as will an interest in “understanding the intricacies of body language” rather than abstract dance phrases.
The team is also looking for performers experienced in aerial rope or corde lisse.
The production rehearses in November 2019 with performances throughout 2020 including an international tour. Pay is TBD.
