The Half Moon Shania
London’s female-led Burnt Lemon Theatre are casting for an actor-performer who can play bass guitar for their London production of award-winning musical The Half Moon Shania. Telling the story of a group of friends revisiting the pubs of their youth, it won Musical Theatre Review’s Best Musical Award at the Edinburgh Festival this year and is coming to London for a short run in 2019.

Here’s a breakdown of the role:

Lola is for a female actor of any ethnicity with a playing age of 16–24. A leading role, Lola is a young woman with plenty of fire in her belly who sings and plays bass in punk rock band The G Stringz. But, despite the punk persona, she’s vulnerable and easily led astray. You’ll need a strong singing voice and to be proficient on bass guitar.

The Half Moon Shania rehearses and runs from 21 January until 11 February 2019 in London. Pay is TBC.
