#Haters
From acclaimed director and writer Emilia Teglia, #Haters is based on a real event and began life as a stage play. After two tours, the piece is being adapted for the screen, directed by award-winning filmmaker Tristan Shepherd.

The 20-minute urban musical is set in Hackney, east London, and follows a day in the life of Tyrese, a young Londoner of Caribbean origin and Jamie, a white British entrepreneur new to the area. The team are casting for the role of Tyrese ahead of shooting next year. Here’s a breakdown:

Tyrese is for a black male actor with a playing age of 17–19. He’s smart, good-looking and has a habit of saying what’s on his mind. He’s a “bold social media surfer” but naïve when it comes to real-life relationships.

#Haters rehearses and shoots 20–25 January 2019 and the role is paid Equity rates.
