“Bond 25”
“Bond 25” was confirmed last week, with production to begin this December and director Danny Boyle officially attached to direct. Set to open in cinemas in time for Christmas 2019, this will be the final feature with Daniel Craig as the legendary spy, ending months of speculation. Still unconfirmed is the return of Ben Whishaw as gadget expert Q, Naomie Harris as Moneypenny and Rory Kinnear as Tanner. Debbie McWilliams is the resident “Bond” CD so keep an eye on her door.
“Endeavour”
Critically acclaimed “Morse” prequel series “Endeavour” has been confirmed for a sixth series after an emotional ending to series five. Shaun Evans returns as the Oxford dropout turned police detector alongside his mentor, DI Thursday, played by Roger Allam. The story now enters 1969, with screenwriter Russell Lewis continuing for another six feature-length installments. Shooting begins in July and Susie Parriss Casting is attached.
“The Trial of Christine Keeler”
Six-part BBC drama “The Trial of Christine Keeler” is shooting this autumn. Award-winning novelist and screenwriter Amanda Coe (“Apple Tree Yard”) has taken a fresh look at the infamous Profumo Affair, going behind the headlines to look at central figure, the 19-year-old Christine Keeler. The relationship between politician John Profumo and the would-be model was a scandal that ultimately ousted him from the government in the 1964 general election. Shooting begins in Bristol this October. Coe has worked with Jill Trevellick and Rachel Freck for casting on projects in the past.
“Cats”
The effort to make a feature film adaptation of Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s “Cats,” based on T. S. Eliot’s poetic stories, looks to be finally gearing up towards a shoot this year. Led by director Tom Hooper, who brought “Les Miserables” to the big screen, it is now scheduled to film in London later this summer and is casting now. Hooper almost exclusively works with Nina Gold, so it’s likely she will have a hand in casting this project as well.
