UK Greenlit: Get Cast in The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard With Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson

Greenlit means a project is officially a go, so all you have to do is follow these leads to stay up to date. You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to land an audition!

The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard
Ryan Reynolds and Samuel L Jackson action-comedy The Hitman’s Bodyguard gets a sequel in the form of The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard. Reynolds and Jackson return alongside Salma Hayek, with the feature shooting in London from March next year. Casting director Elaine Grainger is attached and casting now.

Ammonite
The extraordinary Francis Lee, writer and director of God’s Own Country which won more awards and critical acclaim than it’s possible to list here, is making his next feature. Called Ammonite, it’s billed as a 19th-century drama from an original story and screenplay by Lee, and is supported by Lady Macbeth producer Fodhla Cronin O’Reilly. Shooting for two months from early March 2019, casting director Shaheen Baig and associates are likely to be attached.

His Dark Materials 2
The schedule of the hotly-anticipated BBC adaptation of Philip Pullman’s His Dark Materials continues to grow. The other-worldly tale is brought to TV by Jack Thorne (Harry Potter and the Cursed Child) and led by a stellar cast, revealed earlier this year. The first series hits screens next year but production has already started on Series Two, with many of the cast returning and further casting happening now. Casting directors Kahleen Crawford and Danny Jackson are attached. Filming takes place in Wales throughout 2019.

Quicksand
This feature drama sees British expats Dan and Sarah living the dream in Spain until their lives are rocked by the murder of their son by a local and Dan is offered the chance of revenge. Starring David Tennant and Emily Watson, the film is directed by Mark Brozel and starts shooting from April 2019 on location in Crete. Casting director Elaine Grainger is confirmed as attached and casting now.

Banking on Mr Toad
The live action and CGI animation feature charting the life of Wind in the Willows author Kenneth Grahame is gearing up to shoot. Starring steadily rising star Toby Kebbell as the author who worked for much of his life at the Bank of England, the cast also includes Game of Thrones’ Lena Headey as his wife Elsie. After two years of development, shooting begins next year with casting director Celestia Fox attached.

Untitled M. Night Shyamalan Project
So secret no one knows the name, let alone a plot…The next project from the auteur of mystery M. Night Shyamalan has begun pre-production, with the first of the cast announced. Toby Kebbell is onboard to lead the Apple Original Series, co-stars include Rupert Grint and Nell Tiger Free. Shooting is ongoing, and casting is by Douglas Aibel and Stephanie Holbrook.
