Filmmaker Alex Withers is casting for BFI-funded comedy horror film Plaggy Bag, exploring environmentalism through satire. The team are seeking comic performers with playing ages 21–24, from all backgrounds, and any ethnicity. Lead Zoe is female, she’s headstrong but out of her element and carrying a lot of suppressed anger at the world. Louisa is female. Mature and diplomatic to a fault. Sofia is female. She’s outspoken, the centre of attention and trying to hold onto it. Jack is male. Sociable but not great at reading the room. Sam is male. He’s a well-meaning optimist, idealist, and sycophant. The project rehearses later this month and shoots over four days in April in the East Midlands. Roles are paid £100 per day.

Art collective seeking queer performers
Art collective Zural Zine is casting UK-wide for an art house film, shooting in London next month. The project is open to male or female presenting, gender non-confirming, and non-binary performers, all ethnicities, and playing ages 21–75. Roles include lead Maine; a young man battling a mental health crisis and reinventing his life. Colette; a young artsy woman who comes across as a mess but is there for her friends. And Alice; opinionated and can come across as rude even though she’s well-meaning.

Loft Films is casting athletic adult and child performers from a range of backgrounds for a commercial shooting later this month. Basketball Mum is female, playing age 35–45, and Black. Football Coach is any gender, playing age 27–33, and white. Tennis Parent is any gender, playing age 35–45, and East Asian. All young roles require that you have plenty of experience playing the sport. Young Girl Football Player is female, playing age 8–9, and white. Teenage Tennis Player is female, playing age 16, and East Asian. Late Teenage Boy Basketball Player is male, playing age 18, and Black. An online event service is casting for charismatic hosts with social media experience and a specialism in one of the following; make-up, hair, films, music, fashion, fitness, or dance.
