Now Casting: Lin-Manuel Miranda’s ‘In the Heights’ and More Jobs

Before there was “Hamilton,” there was “In the Heights,” the first Tony Award-winning musical from Lin-Manuel Miranda. In today’s casting notices, you have the chance to star in an upcoming union production of the Broadway hit, which now casting several leading roles. Additionally, we have three more opportunities including a Netflix series and regional theater! Check them out!

“IN THE HEIGHTS”
“In the Heights,” which won the Tony Award for best musical in 2008, is casting union actors for a regional production. The musical, featuring music and lyrics by Miranda and a book by Quiara Alegria Hudes, depicts life in the Washington Heights of New York City. Rehearsals will begin Feb. 25, 2017, with a run slated for Mar. 16–Apr. 2, 2017 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

“OZARK”
“Ozark,” a Netflix series starring Jason Bateman, is casting background talent. The show, which “takes place in the dark and dangerous world of drug-money laundering,” seeks actors, aged 18–65, who are willing to spend time filming upon a boat. Shooting is set for Oct. 25 in Canton, Georgia.

“THE ADDAMS FAMILY” AND “SISTER ACT”
Derby Dinner Playhouse is casting talent for two upcoming musical productions, “The Addams Family” and “Sister Act.” Seeking nonunion actors for all roles in both pieces, the former will run Feb. 6–Apr. 9, 2017, with the latter set for Mar. 27–May 28, 2017, both in Louisville, Kentucky. A casting call will be held at New York City’s Pearl Studios on Oct. 10.

“OUTCAST”
Cinemax series “Outcast,” starring Patrick Fugit and Philip Glenister, seeks talent for background roles. Actors, aged 21–60, are needed to depict nurses for a shoot set for Oct. 4 in Rock Hill, South Carolina. The series depicts Kyle Barnes, “a young man who has been plagued by possession since he was a child.”
