WATCH: Rachel Brosnahan of ‘House of Cards’ Dishes Working Actor Advice

On Aug. 10 Emmy nominee and supporting star on “House of Cards” Rachel Brosnahan sat with SAG Foundation to discuss her acting training, her breakout moments, and the advice she has to offer working actors.

“You are the only you,” she told the live audience. “That means you don’t lose roles to anybody else. There’s no competition so they either want you or they don’t want you, and it’s not that they wanted someone else over you.

“For me that’s been really instrumental in just remembering that this one’s not for me. But I keep working hard and do everything I can to make myself a better actor and to keep putting myself out there. Eventually somebody will want me and there will be a role that is mine.”
