From the immersive sound design of “Avatar: The Way of Water” to the whimsical audio craftsmanship of “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio,” the Cinema Audio Society Awards will recognize the best sound mixing of the year. The 59th annual ceremony will take place on March 4 at the InterContinental Los Angeles Downtown.
The nominees are chosen by members of the Cinema Audio Society, which is made up of professionals involved in cinematic sound mixing, including production editors, re-recorders, mixers, ADR specialists, and technicians.
Those being honored for their work in sound mixing include Career Achievement Award recipient Peter J. Devlin (“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever”); filmmaker of the year Alejandro G. Iñárritu (“Bardo: False Chronicle of a Handful of Truths”); and hundreds of other sound mixers, including finalists for the prestigious Student Recognition Award.

“CAS congratulates our industry on the rich sonic tapestries of 2022 and looks forward to celebrating the season's chosen award recipients for outstanding achievement in sound mixing,” said CAS president Karol Urban.
