“Cruel Summer” just may be this season’s runaway hit. The Freeform series from from executive producer Jessica Biel premiered April 20, and it tells its thrilling story over three summers in the 1990, following the mystery of one girl who goes missing and another who takes over her life. Playing the latter is breakout actor Chiara Aurelia, who previously appeared on “Tell Me Your Secrets,” “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” and “Pretty Little Liars,” among others. She recently took over our Instagram to chat about playing her character Jeanette, her love for the cast and crew, and why it’s OK to make mistakes as an actor. View the whole on-camera takeover on our Instagram highlights, and catch the Q&A below!

Is memorizing a lot of lines hard? Is it okay to make mistakes on set?
It’s super hard, and totally, totally normal to make mistakes. We are all doing our best and it can be super challenging sometimes! Mistakes are a part of the process, just try not to be too hard on yourself. We are all learning!

What year or version of Jeanette do you like the most?
From 1993–1995, so much drastically changed for Jeanette. It was honestly amazing just being able to explore all those transformative years with her.

What is it like working with Sarah Drew?
Sarah Drew is the absolute best! Working with her has been a dream come true. She’s kind, supportive, talented, and a real model. I couldn’t have asked for a better TV mom.

Who was the funniest actor to work with?
With little hesitation, Barrett Carnahan.

Without spoilers, what was your favorite episode to film?
Episode 5.

How were the Dallas crews?
Beyond incredible. They made the show what it is today! I’m so lucky to have been able to meet so many amazing people over the course of this show, working alongside so many talented, kind people in all departments.
