“Wayward Sisters”
“Supernatural” fans have a reason to rejoice—the long-running CW show is putting a spinoff into production that has been seven years in the making. “Supernatural” will air the backdoor pilot of “Wayward Sisters” sometime during the remainder of the current season. Don’t expect to find any of the male leads from the original series popping up in the new one, though—the project will feature an all-female cast. The story will follow Sheriff Jody Mills as she trains a group of young women who have all found themselves abandoned because of supernatural forces. The bonded group finds that they are a formidable force against the evils that left them orphaned. The project, cast by Ulrich/Dawson/Kritzer Casting, has already brought on Kim Rhodes, Katherine Ramdeen, Briana Buckmaster, Clark Backo, Yadira Guevara-Prip, and Kathryn Newton. Production for the pilot has wrapped, but a series pickup is likely; if given the greenlight, the first season’s production will kick off in April. The eerie coasts and shadowy woods of Vancouver, British Columbia, will host the project, should it find a permanent home.

“Skinny Dip”
The sea is full of mysterious and dangerous things, but cruise ships aren’t typically on that list—until now. The CW is looking to hit the open waters with a revenge plot that goes full speed ahead. The pilot, based on a novel by Carl Hiaasen, will follow a woman who teams up with a sketchy ex-cop to help her take down the cheating husband who plotted to kill her on their romantic high-seas getaway. While investigating the homicidal second anniversary vacation, the duo discovers they may be unearthing something much deeper than a premeditated murder. The project, cast by John Frank Levey, has picked up cast members Sarah Wright Olsen, Matt Barr, Ben Aldridge, and Richard Esteras. The production is looking to shoot late into pilot season, sometime in the final weeks of April. The boggy coast of New Orleans will bring the nautical story to life.

“Welcome to the Neighborhood”
It’s hard picking up and moving your life to a new state, but for one Midwest man and his family, it’s going to be the culture shock of a century in a new CBS pilot. After a family moves from the middle of America to a tough Los Angeles neighborhood, they find their hospitality and good manners are not a common occurrence outside of the quaint town they left behind. Cedric the Entertainer, Tichina Arnold, Marcel Spears, Josh Lawson, and Sheaun McKinney are all on board through Lisa Miller Katz Casting. Production is anticipated to begin in April in Los Angeles.
