Hey, Atlanta actors! Stay in the loop and be sure to check back every week for projects currently in production in the place you call home. Here’s the 411 on what’s filming big and small in your city.

“DMZ”
Ava DuVernay is in the ATL for “DMZ,” her latest directorial project. As previously reported, Rosario Dawson will lead the cast of the HBO Max series pilot, which is based on a 2005 Vertigo comic and centers on a civil war that breaks out in a futuristic America, forcing New York City to become a demilitarized zone. The pilot is actually not filming in NYC, though, but in Atlanta. DuVernay and team have started production in the city and have closed down some major streets around George State University’s downtown campus. The production has been regularly placing casting calls on Backstage, including this current one for tattooed and pierced actors for background roles and another for African-American tribal crew members, both filming March 6 in Atlanta, Georgia— head over to the casting notices now to apply! The series also stars Benjamin Bratt, Josh Pais, Freddy Miyares, and more. Roberto Patino is writing the adaptation.
