Welcome to Rumorville! Here you can learn about casting news that’s about to break in Hollywood. These speculations might be only rumors, but that doesn’t mean you can’t follow the trail all the way to the audition room.

If you’re a fan of “Game of Thrones”, then we have good news for you! While HBO’s first run at a GOT prequel has come to an end, according to Insider, “Dunk & Egg” (another prequel to the hit series) is still in the works. We have word that the potential “Game of Thrones” prequel series “Dunk & Egg” has moved a step closer to production with the hiring of a new writer. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming project.

“Dunk & Egg” Officially Has a Writer.

What is dead may never die at HBO. Following a nearly year-long development cycle, the potential “Game of Thrones” prequel series “Dunk & Egg” has moved a little bit closer to reality by hiring writer and executive producer Steve Conrad (“Patriot”). We first reported the news of the prequel series back in January 2021 when it was announced for early development. Just as it was back then, HBO gave no comment to inquiring publications regarding the news of Conrad’s hiring, via Deadline. If it makes it to air, “Dunk & Egg,” based on George R. R. Martin’s three-novella series, “would follow the adventures of Dunk (Ser Duncan the Tall) and Egg (the future king Aegon V. Targaryen), some 90 years before the events of ‘A Song of Ice and Fire.’” It’s on the list of several “Thrones” prequels that are currently in varying stages of development or production, including “House of the Dragon,” which is currently filming and due out on HBO next year. Kate Rhodes James is the casting director for that prequel, while Nina Gold headed the parent series.
