Jacob Tremblay’s career is not slowing down and he has signed on for his next role. First reported by Deadline, the young actor will co-star opposite Peter Dinklage in the upcoming “The Toxic Avenger” film from Legendary. A contemporary reimagining of the 1984 low-budget action-comedy, the film follows “a struggling everyman [who] is pushed into a vat of toxic waste [and] is transformed into a mutant freak who must go from shunned outcast to underdog hero as he races to save his son, his friends, and his community from the forces of corruption and greed. Macon Blair is on board to write and direct.

The “Promising Young Woman” nominee is set to star in Adam Sandler’s next Netflix feature “Spaceman,” previously known as “The Spaceman of Bohemia.” Paul Dano has also signed on. The story, based on Jaroslav Kalfer’s novel, follows an astronaut (Sandler) sent to the edge of the galaxy to collect mysterious ancient dust and soon finds his earthly life falling to pieces. Mulligan will play the wife of Sandler’s astronaut protagonist. Johan Renck (“Chernobyl”) is set to direct off a screenplay adapted by Colby Day. This will be Mulligan’s fifth collaboration with Netflix (“Mudbound,” “The Dig,” BBC’s “Collateral,” and the upcoming “Maestro”). This will also be the latest in a five-year relationship between Sandler and Netflix, starting with his major multi-picture deal in 2015. Next up, he will be filming the sports comedy “Hustle” for the platform.
