According to Variety, “Mrs. American Pie” is officially coming to Apple TV+. Based on Juliet McDaniel’s Novel “Mr. & Mrs. American Pie,” the new show will follow Maxine Simmons (played by Wiig) “as she attempts to secure her place within the high society of Palm Beach. As she navigates the line between the haves and the have-nots, the series focuses on questions of who gets a seat at the table and what people will sacrifice to get there.” Along with Wiig, Laura Dern is also executive producing and reportedly eyeing a major role, per Variety. Abe Sylvia (“Dead to Me,” “The Eyes of Tammy Faye) will serve as the series showrunner.
