Ask any actor and they'll tell you it takes practice and time to learn how to audition well. Many will tell you that one of the main things you need to do is completely memorize your lines and perform in the audition room off-book without having your script in front of you. According to award-winning casting director Backstage Expert Melanie Forchetti, however, this may not always be the case.
