Is it too early in the film awards season to predict potential frontrunners? The heartwarming trailer for Greta Gerwig’s “Little Women” begs the question.

The Academy Award-nominated writer-director brings her singular vision to Louisa May Alcott’s classic coming-of-age tale, and with a Dec. 25 release, it’s just in time for awards voters to consider. Led by three-time Oscar nominee Saoirse Ronan as Jo March, Sony Pictures Releasing’s “Little Women” also stars Emma Watson as Meg, Florence Pugh as Amy, Eliza Scanlen as Beth, Timothée Chalamet as Laurie, Laura Dern as Marmee March, and Meryl Streep as Aunt March, making it pretty much unmissable.
