Maisie Williams’ time on “Game of Thrones” turned her into a full-fledged superstar, so it may surprise you to hear the young actor nearly missed her audition—and it wasn’t a case of running late or an illness. Williams actually wanted to opt out of the audition entirely in order to see some pigs. Seriously.
On a recent appearance on the talk show “Hot Ones” (on which celebrities eat varying levels of spicy hot wings while being interviewed), Williams was asked if it was in fact true that she nearly missed her big audition because it interfered with a class field trip to the pig farm.

“Yeah, that’s true,” Williams admits. “My mom really put her foot down and I was kind of mad about it. I just really wanted to go on that school trip. But I wouldn’t be here today—you wouldn’t have wanted me on the show if I had gone to that pig farm.”
