“Doctor Strange” fans, mark your calendars. The Marvel Cinematic Universe continues to crank out content with its next big picture, “Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness,” hitting the big screens on May 6. The upcoming superhero film, starring Benedict Cumberbatch, features more action and some big names in the MCU, such as Wanda Maximoff (played by Elizabeth Olsen). To celebrate the exciting new film, we gathered a list of castings that remind us of the mystical franchise. Here are superhero and science fiction-themed casting calls to apply to while we await the next chapter of the multiverse.
“Great Responsibility”
A Northwestern University student is seeking actors for their student film. The story follows a compulsive superhero who, while capable of saving others, struggles to save herself. They are looking for a variety of talent from a variety of genders, including trans gender non-conforming talent, aged 20–70. Filming takes place May 20–22 in Evanston, Illinois. Pay is at a professional rate.

“Busted”
This comedic video “Busted” is a satire that imagines the superhero recruitment process. Production is casting talent of all genders, including non-binary talent, aged 18–30. They are looking to shoot on weekends in June with one location in Culver City, one in North Hollywood, and two in Burbank, California. Pay is $100 per day.

“Code Boy”
Reel Works Teen Filmmaking is seeking actors for their superhero short film. The short follows a Black 15-year-old who gains superpowers from an accident that killed his father. They are looking to cast several roles, including leads for this film. Production wants male talent, aged 18–30, and female talent, aged 30–55. This project shoots in April in Harlem, NYC. This is an unpaid project.

“Smack-Man Resurrected”
“Smack-Man Resurrected” is a 30-minute superhero short film about an Indian man who becomes a vigilante to stop the attacks of a racist hate group. They are looking to cast lead, supporting, and extra roles. Production wants talent, aged 18–65. Filming will take place Aug. 18–31 in Boston. This is an unpaid project.

“Magic in the Maze”
This feature-length drama directed by S. J. Accardi is in need of actors. The film follows Leo, a nerdy, piano prodigy who wishes his parents dead after they refuse to let him attend a party. But when his wish comes true, he must seek redemption from the magic of a mystical maze. They are seeking a variety of male and female talent, aged 16–58. Rehearsals will be spring and summer with shooting occurring in October in Cape May. This is an unpaid project.
