Here’s everything we know so far about Bartlett’s new role as Vinnie, a charismatic fitness instructor.
Murray Bartlett Will Play a Fitness Guru on the Apple TV+ Series “Physical”
Last week, Bartlett opened up about his new role in the dark comedy “Physical.” The Australian actor told Variety’s Just for Variety podcast that he’s joining the second season of the Apple TV+ series opposite Rose Byrne. Bartlett wasn’t able to share too much about his casting at this time, but he confirmed he will be playing Vincent “Vinnie” Green—a friend and rival of Byrne’s Sheila. The character is described as “a charismatic fitness instructor, weight loss guru, and late-night infomercial pioneer.” Bartlett said, “The writing in this season is really fantastic. That stuff that I get to do is really fun, but it’s twisted and smart. It’s interesting, because it’s got that whole, like, ’80s fun thing, but there’s a depth to this show that’s really moving.” Per IMDb, “Physical” follows “a woman struggling in her life as a quietly tortured housewife [who] finds an unconventional path to power through an unlikely source: the world of aerobics.” Rory Scovel, Dierdre Friel, Paul Sparks, Della Saba, Lou Taylor Pucci, Grace Kelly Quigley, and Geoffrey Arend also star. Annie Weisman is the series’ creator and showrunner. Susie Farris is the series casting director.
