Love Season 2 of Netflix’s ‘Bridgerton’? Apply to These Gigs

Do you burn for the widely-loved Netflix series “Bridgerton”? If you can’t get enough of the eight Bridgerton siblings as they navigate love and life in historical London high society, then get ready. Lady Whistledown came back for a second season along with Adjoa Andoh, Claudia Jessie, and more. Since you’ve probably already binged the whole season, we decided to round up some projects that remind us of the hit Netflix series. If you’d like to star on a show similar to “Bridgerton,” quench your desire and apply to these jobs. 

Jennifer’s Blood

New Zealand Son Films is casting several main roles in the upcoming feature “Jennifer’s Blood,” a modern-day adaptation of the 1872 romance “Carmilla” by Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu. Female talent, aged 18–23, is wanted for the roles of Olivia and Katherine, two young women who share a dreamlike romantic bond. Male talent, aged 50–60, is wanted to play the role of Olivia’s retired father, and female talent, aged 45–64, is wanted to play Gracie, a mother figure for Olivia. The production will shoot for three weeks in April in Charlotte, North Carolina, and actors will share 4 percent of the revenue from Amazon Studios and foreign sales based on their screen time. Travel, food, and lodging will be provided.

Casting is underway for this Jane Austen novel adaptation. Production is looking for Equity actors of all genders, aged 18 and older. Oklahoma-based actors are preferred. Rehearsals begin May 16 and the show runs June 10–25 in Oklahoma City. Pay is $279 per week.

Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” Season 5

Amazon’s “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” is currently filming its fifth season and needs background talent. Production wants talent aged 18 and older for various roles. Filming will take place in the New York City area from February through summer. Pay is $182 for eight hours of work (plus a $100 COVID-19 testing stipend) for union actors, and $210 for 12 hours of work (plus an $80 COVID-19 testing stipend) for nonunion talent.

Your ½ of the Rent

Join the cast of “Your ½ of the Rent,” a romantic comedy-drama about a couple moving to Los Angeles and breaking up. Production is casting a Latino/Hispanic male, aged 18–30, to play a confident jokester; female and male talent, aged 50 and older, to play husband and wife; and various other day-player roles. Shooting takes place in Los Angeles on TBD dates. Pay is $125 per day. Meals provided when working more than 3 hours.

Michigan Shakespeare Festival 2022 Season

Michigan’s Shakespeare Festival is seeking video submissions from Equity actors. The season includes “Henry V,” “The Merry Wives of Windsor,” and “Charley’s Aunt.” Casting Equity actors of all genders and ages. Rehearsals begin June 14. The show runs July 16–August 21 in Jackson, Mississippi. Pay is $476 per week.
