Love ‘Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story’? Apply to These Netflix + Other Great Gigs

Based on the book series by Julia Quinn, “Bridgerton” has become another bonafide Netflix hit with additional seasons and spin-offs on the horizon for the eponymous London family. One spin-off that is getting a lot of attention is “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.” The new series, which debuted in May, follows a young Queen Charlotte and her marriage to King George of England. As for when to expect “Bridgerton” Season 3, it looks like fans have to wait a little bit longer for a release date. If you need that period piece or British drama fix now, it’s the perfect time to audition for these gigs that remind us of “Bridgerton.” From feature films to period pieces, these projects need talent now.  

Netflix: Feature Film

A Netflix feature film is looking for young talent for two principal roles. The production wants white male talent, aged 10–12, to play either Mookie, an overweight boy who loves baseball, or Mullin, an intimidating popular kid at school who is really good at baseball. The role of Mullin requires strong baseball skills. Shooting is in the spring and summer in NYC. Talent will be paid SAG rates.

“Little Women” (2024)

A union and nonunion feature film is casting locally for its February–April 2024 shoot in Boston and southern New Hampshire. Production is filling multiple roles, including a lead female actor, aged 20–26, to play Jo March, a lead female actor, aged 22–28, to play Meg March, and a lead female actor, aged 15–20, to play Beth March. Pay will be negotiated after casting. Please note that applicants for the role of Jo March must have singing and ice-skating skills, and applicants for the role of Beth March must have singing and piano/keyboard skills.

Chamber Theatre Tours, Actor

Chamber Theatre Productions is casting non-Equity actors for its October 2023–April 2024 tour of 19th century literature adaptations. Production is looking for lead all genders actors, aged 21 and older, to play Touring Actors. All roles pay $550 per week for an estimated 30 weeks of work. Housing will also be paid for on tour.

Television Series: Queen Máxima

A six-part drama series exploring the life of Queen Máxima of the Netherlands wants Latina or white female talent, aged 18–35. The production wants talent 5’5” tall or shorter and fluent in Spanish, preferably with an Argentinian accent, to play Máxima’s half-sister Dolores. Shooting is for one day, June 4–6, in Brooklyn, New York, and one day in Madrid, Spain. Talent will be paid $1,000 per day.

“It Ends With Us”

Casting is underway for “It Ends With Us,” a feature film based on Colleen Hoover’s hit novel. The film stars Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni. Production is seeking female background talent, aged 18–40 for a nude body double. Additionally, a young Latina actor, age 9–11, is wanted to portray a pre-op patient in a featured background role. Filming will take place on May 19 in the Hackensack/Bergen County, New Jersey, area. Pay is $187 for eight hours of work. Shoots May 15–June 30 in the New Jersey area. Pay is $4,328 for four days of work.

“Horizon: An American Saga Part 2”

Jessie Vanatta Casting is seeking Black male talent, aged 30–60, to portray ranch hands in background roles in the feature film “Horizon: An American Saga Part 2.” Farm or ranch experience is a plus but not required. Filming will take place through May in St. George, Utah, and in June in Moab. Pay is $150 for 12 hours of work with overtime if applicable. Talent will also receive $35 for the fitting.

“Pretty Little Liars,” Season 2

Grant Wilfley Casting is seeking talent for Season 2 of HBO’s “Pretty Little Liars.” Talent, aged 18 and older, is wanted to portray fit lifeguards in featured background roles. Talent will work June 5–7, 9, and 12 in Newburgh, New York. Pay is $187 for eight hours of work.
