“Love Life”
Love is in the air in NYC: the HBO Max anthology series “Love Life” is now filming its second season in the city! According to On Location Vacations, filming will wrap up this week in the East Village (around 7th Street between 2nd and 3rd Avenues). As we’ve reported in recent months, William Jackson Harper (“The Good Place”), Jessica Williams (“2 Dope Queens”) and Chris “Comedian CP” Powell (“Detroiters”) will star in the second season of the series. The new season will center on Harper’s character Marcus Watkins, who is coming out of a long-term relationship and is plunged back into the search for the romantic fulfillment that he thought he’d already found.
Williams will play Mia Hines, “the beautiful, intelligent, and somewhat unknowable object of Marcus’s affection,” and Powell will play “the charming and gregarious Yogi, who is committed to his girlfriend and two children but lives vicariously through Marcus’s exploits, offering unsolicited advice.” Powell recently shared a shot of himself on Instagram presumably from set near the Museum of Modern Art, and Sara portrayer Zoë Chao has also recently shared to her Instagram story to mark the return. “Tuca & Bertie” and “Mixed-ish” writer Rachelle Williams recently joined the series as co-showrunner alongside creator Sam Boyd and Bridget Bedard. Rori Bergman is the casting director. Read from Season 1 star Anna Kendrick about her work on the series here in her Backstage cover story!
