
Lionsgate isn’t wasting any time getting Suzanne Collins’ newest “Hunger Games” installment, “Sunrise on the Reaping,” onto the big screen. The production company behind the previous franchise films has already released its first visuals and announced that original film franchise writer Billy Ray will return to write the new film, set for release in theaters on November 20, 2026. “Glass Stars,” Table Read
CatheXis Films is seeking talent for a livestreamed table read of “Glass Stars,” a speculative sci-fi series based on the 2021 novella and the previously published 2006 short story of the same name. Two male actors, aged 50 and older, are wanted to read for supporting roles. Production is also filling crew positions, including a co-director, director of photography, and more. The livestream is scheduled for Jan. 11, 2026, in Seattle, Washington. Actors cast for table reading may choose to join the pilot project once it is funded, which will be filmed in Seattle, Las Vegas, and/or Palm Springs in late 2026. “An Absence of Illusion”
Casting is underway for “An Absence of Illusion,” a student film about two artists who discover surveillance bugs in their unsanctioned playhouse and must debate whether to continue staging their production of Tennessee Williams’ “The Glass Menagerie” or flee. Four Los Angeles-based actors, aged 18–35, are sought for lead roles in the drama, which will be filmed at UCLA on May 24–25. Stage/theatre experience is a plus. “The Social Distance”
Join the cast of “The Social Distance,” a sci-fi YA drama feature film set during the summer of the COVID-19 lockdown where a science nerd and her boy-crazy best friend decide to build a spaceship to escape the quarantine before the summer ends. Actors, aged 18–80, are wanted for various roles, including the starring duo. Rehearsals will take place in San Rafael, California, followed by filming between June 29 and Aug. 9. Join the proof of concept for “Syphon,” a sci-fi/action comic book series adaptation. Los Angeles-based actors, aged 18 and older, are wanted for various roles, including the titular Syphon. Filming will take place on May 3–4 in Burbank. Talent will be paid SAG minimum up to $1,500.

“Without a Cost”
Casting is currently in progress for “Without a Cost,” a buddy-action comedy film about two criminals trying to escape a dystopian world where the rich live in a large walled city and the desperate live under the rule of crime lords. Actors, aged 18 and older, are wanted for several roles, including the two lead roles of Jones and Rooney. Additionally, production is hiring multiple crew positions, including a cinematographer and an editor. Filming will take place between July and December in Austin, Texas.
