Author Suzanne Collins recently announced the 2025 release of her next book, “Sunrise on the Reaping,” which takes place in “The Hunger Games” universe. Lionsgate, the production company behind the previous franchise films, likewise publicized that the movie adaptation of it will premiere in November 2026. If you’re looking for your own action, sci-fi, or drama project, now’s the time to audition for the following gigs.

“Alt Dreamer”

A sci-fi student film is casting for its July 26 shoot in Chicago. Production seeks a lead female actor, aged 27–43, to play Paloma. The role pays a flat rate of $150 for an estimated seven hours of work.

“Life Protection Bureau”

A short film about a mother and daughter living under a draconian government program is casting for its July 13–14 shoot in Los Angeles. Production seeks a lead female/gender-nonconforming/non-binary actor, aged 16–24, to play Lilith. The role pays $200 per day for an estimated two days of work.

“Personhood”

A nonunion sci-fi feature film is casting for its Sept. 1–13 shoot in Mijas Costa, Spain. Production seeks a lead male actor, aged 32–38, to play Waylen, a lead female actor, aged 20–26, to play Gala, and a supporting male actor, aged 27–30, to play Anders. All roles pay a flat rate of £1,500–£3,000 for an estimated 21 days of work. Please note that the roles of Waylen and Gala require nudity.

“The Last Battleship”

A sci-fi feature film is casting for its fall 2025 shoot in San Angelo, Texas. Production is filling multiple roles, including a lead male actor, aged 45–65, to play Captain George Perry, a lead female actor, aged 21–35, to play Commander Eileen Ford, and a supporting male actor, aged 25–40, to play Chief Engineer Commander Herakles Drakos. The roles of Captain George Perry and Commander Eileen Ford pay $500 per day for an estimated 21 days of work. The role of Chief Engineer Commander Herakles Drakos pays $250 per day for an estimated 21 days of work. Please note that the role of Captain George Perry requires sword-fighting skills. A nonunion political sci-fi feature film is casting for its fall shoot in San Diego. Production seeks a lead female actor, aged 25–50, to play Jackie and a lead female actor, aged 25–50, to play Joanna. Both roles pay a flat rate of $2,000–$5,000 for an estimated three days of work.
