Broadway’s biggest night is coming up soon, and nominations are in! On Tuesday, May 5, the 79th Tony Award nominations were announced by Tony nominee Uzo Aduba and Tony and Emmy winner Darren Criss—fresh off his own win last year for “Maybe Happy Ending” (2025)—taking the stage to reveal who’s in the running for Broadway’s most coveted honors.

"The Lost Boys," director Michael Arden's musical take on the 1987 vampire flick, and "Schmigadoon!" the stage adaptation of the Apple TV+ musical series from director/choreographer Christopher Gattelli, lead the way this year with twelve nominations apiece.

On the play side, Joe Mantello's revival of "Death of a Salesman" earned nine nominations, including acting nods for stars Nathan Lane, Laurie Metcalf, and Christopher Abbott.

Several non-competitive awards have been announced ahead of nominations day. Mary-Mitchell Campbell is set to receive the Isabelle Stevenson Tony Award, given each year to a theater community member whose offstage contributions match the artistry happening onstage. André Bishop, Jules Fisher, and James Lapine will each be honored with a Special Tony Award for Lifetime Achievement in the Theatre. And the 2026 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre will be presented to the 1/52 Project, Jake Bell, Kenn Lubin, and Loren Plotkin.

Hosted by P!NK, the 79th Tony Awards will broadcast live from Radio Music Hall in NYC to both coasts on CBS and stream on Paramount+ on Sunday, June 7, 2026, from 8–11 p.m. Here’s the full list of nominees.
