Face Forward: How a Beauty Creator Built Her Brand

“Backstage was recommended to me for acting by word of mouth, but when I discovered the Content Creator page, I fell in love with the way you can view and apply for a wide range of jobs for companies in various industries—from beauty all the way to real estate!”

Isabelle Clare didn’t come from a traditional entertainment background. Her creative journey began in fashion and beauty, industries where she learned the power of branding and content.

“I have created videos for entertainment ever since I was a little girl,” she said. “But it was only when I worked in the fashion and beauty industries that I realized the true commercial power social media content has.”

She first explored Backstage for acting roles, but a deeper dive led to something more aligned with her strengths.

“Backstage was recommended to me for acting by word of mouth,” she said, “but when I discovered the Content Creator page, I fell in love with the way you can view and apply for a wide range of jobs for companies in various industries—from beauty all the way to real estate!”

That one discovery opened the door to consistent work. Clare began booking beauty and wellness campaigns, lifestyle shoots, tutorials, and more—quickly building a brand rooted in polish, professionalism, and passion.

A first step into the spotlight

Unlike many creators who transition from performance backgrounds, Clare started here, bringing her background in fashion, beauty, and branding directly into the UGC space.

“Content creation was my first step into the entertainment industry,” she said.

Her niche quickly emerged. Clare thrives on producing beauty and wellness content, especially review-style videos. It’s a space she knows deeply—and one she’s confident in.

“I love creating beauty and cosmetic review videos,” she said. “I’m passionate and knowledgeable about this industry, which allows me to share my love and expertise with the audience.”

From Flo to Footasylum

Backstage opened up a wide range of gigs—and Clare took full advantage. She’s created content for brands like HealRay (dental), Healf (supplements), Thomas Carter (fragrance), Alpine (earplugs), and more.

Her favorite booking was an opportunity with Flo Tracker, a brand she already used in real life.

“It was amazing to be able to promote a company I already know and love!"

And she calls her biggest breakthrough a project for Footasylum’s “Coach Confessions” series—one that gave her a surge of exposure and helped her break out as a YouTube creator.

“It gave me huge exposure and led to many more jobs in the YouTube community.”

She now collaborates regularly with Womenli Supplements, a wellness brand she connected with through Backstage.

Mastering the content process

As her work grew more consistent, Clare also learned how to navigate the process behind the scenes. A key thing she’s learned is to be prepared for rounds of feedback.

“Clients often have a particular vision for the content they would like and therefore may ask for multiple revisions, meaning projects may take longer than initially expected,” she explained.

But that hasn’t slowed her down. Instead, she’s developed a varied and strategic portfolio, featuring everything from product testimonials to street interviews and tutorials—formats that show both range and readiness.

Her go-to strategy for standing out is—well, to stand out.

“A strong cover letter and varied portfolio of work will show you are diverse.”
