How One Creator Turned a Side Hustle into a Brand

"I have always had a love for creating content. But got really into it as soon as I landed my first-ever project through Backstage. Which led me to create a whole page dedicated to living life and reviewing all things—products, brands, etc."

When Andrew Rosales first landed a content creator gig through Backstage, he didn’t expect it to change the direction of his career.

But one booking turned into another—and then another. Soon, Rosales was building a personal brand around lifestyle content and landing repeat work with major names.

“I have always had a love for creating content,” he said. “But got really into it as soon as I landed my first-ever project through Backstage. Which led me to create a whole page dedicated to living life and reviewing all things—products, brands, etc.”

A pivot that paid off

Rosales was already using Backstage to find acting work when he landed his first UGC gig.

“I was transitioning from acting since I needed extra funds,” he said. “There was a lot of UGC work, so I decided to try it.”

He gave it a shot—and never looked back.

That first job led to bookings with brands like Crocs, Farmer Boys, Wyze, and even a TikTok event, all locked through Backstage. His signature mix of relatability, personality, and polish helped him stand out—and rack up nearly 40k followers on his UGC-dedicated TikTok page, The Drew Revieww.

Food, tech, and everything in between

From burgers to Bluetooth, Rosales has worked across the food, beverage, and tech industries. One of his favorite bookings was for Farmer Boys, a project that started with a simple social video and turned into back-to-back gigs for commercial and social media content.

He credits Backstage for helping him land not just one-off gigs, but repeat clients, long-term collaborations, and a growing audience for The Drew Revieww.

Turning reach into results

Rosales has grown his UGC presence into a recognizable platform by staying consistent, building out a portfolio of high-quality content, and keeping things real. His lifestyle posts feel like a natural extension of his everyday routine—something he knows resonates with followers and brands alike.

“I love creating lifestyle content,” he said. “I go through my day to day and incorporate a product into my life or try a new restaurant. I love how easy it is to create something relatable with lifestyle content.”

The creator’s playbook

When asked what he wishes he’d known when he started working as a content creator, Rosales keeps it simple—know your worth, and stay flexible.

“Have a set price in mind” when it comes to working with brands and collaborators, he said. And when it comes to pitching and posting, “be yourself and be open with a creative mind.”
