Greenlit means a project is officially a go, so all you have to do is follow these leads to stay up to date. You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to land an audition!

“Rogue One” Prequel Series
After a long wait, we finally have some information on Disney’s upcoming “Star Wars” TV series. Disney announced last week Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor, the cocky daredevil who helped steal the Death Star plans, will be the focus of its new series which will air on its upcoming streaming service, Disney+. Luna will reprise his role in what will be a prequel to the 2016 hit film “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story,” that takes place in the early years of the Rebellion. The project is scheduled to begin filming after Luna completes his work on the next season of Netflix’s “Narcos.” While there are no other actors or writers attached to the project yet, it wouldn’t be a surprise if “Rogue One” casting director Jina Jay returned. All the Star Wars films lately have had U.K.–based production and the series will likely be no different.

“Breaking Bad” Movie
The one who knocks is knocking again. First announced by The Albuquerque Journal, the hit AMC series “Breaking Bad” will be coming to the big screen—at least figuratively. Creator Vince Gilligan is offering no details as far as whether the film will be a prequel, a sequel, or something in between, nor is he releasing any general plot details or clues on what platform we will be able to watch it, but production is scheduled to begin this month and continue through early February. Simultaneously, the prequel series “Better Call Saul” will soon be heading into production on its fifth season. Meanwhile, series lead Bryan Cranston can be seen in “Network” on Broadway for a 16-week limited run, so that leaves his potential involvement in the film installment up in the air. As for actors looking to get involved in the movie, your best bet is franchise casting dream team Sharon Bialy and Sherry Thomas.

“Veronica Mars”
As revealed last week, “Veronica Mars” is back and has begun filming in Los Angeles, and they’ve added another familiar face to the cast. Max Greenfield will be reprising his role as Sheriff Deputy Leo D’Amato in the upcoming eight-episode Hulu limited series. Also announced to join the cast is Patton Oswalt, who will play the recurring role of Penn Epner, a braggadocious pizza delivery guy on the wrong side of 40. Greenfield and Oswalt will join Kristen Bell as she steps back into her lead role as the titular sleuth, as well as the already-announced Enrico Colantoni and Jason Dohring.

“The Undoing”
The high-profile HBO limited series “The Undoing” has found its director. Susanne Bier has signed on to direct all six episodes of the Nicole Kidman-starring project written by David E. Kelley. The series, an adaptation of Jean Hanff Korelitz’s book “You Should Have Known,” centers on Grace Sachs (played by Kidman), a successful therapist on the brink of publishing her first book whose life is thrust into chaos, forcing her to dismantle her dream life to create another for herself and her child. This will be the second limited series in which Bier is the sole director, following the BBC One and AMC series “The Night Manager.” Bier also regularly uses Jina Jay on her projects, including on “The Night Manager,” so expect that to be the road she takes for “The Undoing,” as well.

“The Prince of Fashion”
Will Ferrell is heading back to the world of fashion—this time in a much more dramatic role. The actor is attached to star in Amazon Studios’ “The Prince of Fashion,” and Gus Van Sant is on board to direct. The project will be based on the GQ article “My Son, The Prince of Fashion,” which follows Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Michael Chabon’s visit to Paris Men’s Fashion Week with his 13-year-old son, resulting in a heartwarming story in which he feels like he’s finally found “his people.” It’s still early in the film’s development, but Van Sant, who most recently helmed “Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot,” typically uses Francine Maisler as his CD.
