A commercial for a reviews start-up is seeking a performer to play an American drill sergeant, a character loosely based upon the memorable turn of R. Lee Ermey in Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket. The piece is for an app based around positive reviews and involves the drill sergeant bellowing his happy review of a meal to a startled waiter, giving praise the only way he knows how. Lead role Drill Instructor Sergeant is male, playing age 45–65, and any ethnicity. Ideally, he is clean-shaven with short, neat hair and a genuine American accent (or a performed one, if necessary). The project shoots early September in north-east England and the role pays £1,200. The team are seeking performers based anywhere in the UK. Shoe commercial casting real women
Road Casting’s Coralie Rose is seeking real people for a commercial project with a shoe brand that celebrates women. The piece needs women of all backgrounds – daughters, mothers, sisters, aunts, grandmothers, couples, activists, weightlifters, brides, and friends. People should be 18+ and available for rehearsals and shoots in London 24–26 August. Guinness World Records are casting a reality segment where kids get to meet and interview record holders as well as attempt records. The team are seeking kids aged 8–10, any ethnicity, and based anywhere in the UK. Children will need to note what they love about Guinness World Records and record-breaking, which record-holders they would like to meet, and what they’d ask them. Filmmaker James Hope-Falkner is casting The Routine, a dialogue-free short film telling the story of Gloria, a woman who lives a solitary but happy life near the sea until her cherished swimming routine goes awry. The team are casting leading role Gloria: female, playing age 55+, and any ethnicity. She’s a fiercely independent swimmer with good posture, fluid movement, and a sparky personality. The project shoots in Cornwall in September and the role is paid £170 per day.
