Blue Lights
Lights are flashing in Belfast as the new BBC One Northern Ireland police drama series Blue Lights has begun filming for its premiere season.
Created by Declan Lawn and Adam Patterson (The Salisbury Poisonings), the new police drama will tell the story of a team of rookie police officers working in Belfast “and the unique set of pressures and dangers they face as frontline response cops.”
The series will film in Belfast and its surrounding areas, according to Belfast Live. Lawn has been sharing photos from set on his social media accounts, including a photo of him, Patterson, and executive producer Louise Gallagher on day one of filming on 14 February.
Siân Brooke, Katherine Devlin, and Nathan Braniff will lead the series with John Lynch, Jonathan Harden, Valene Kane, Martin McCann, and Richard Dormer in series regular roles.
BBC Northern Ireland and Two Cities Television will produce Blue Lights, which will be told in six parts. Gilles Bannier (Trigger Point) is on board to direct with Lawn, Patterson, and Fran Harris set as writers.
