The mid-2000s hit Fox game show “Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader?” and its 2019 Nickelodeon revival had viewers everywhere testing their own elementary smarts from their living rooms. Did you ever watch someone declare, “I am not smarter than a fifth-grader” and think, “I think I am”? You’re in luck! Though “5th Grader” itself isn’t currently casting (keep an eye on Backstage for updates), there are plenty of other shows for trivia and reality show junkies of all ages to show off their smarts and win big for it. Apply to these projects casting families, kids, teens, and everyone in between.

“Pictionary The Game Show”

Casting is underway for “Pictionary The Game Show.” Teams of two are needed for this classic party game’s return to TV. Two celebrities will team up with two contestants for a fast-paced modern take on Pictionary. Production is looking for competitive and energetic people of all genders, aged 21–60. Filming will be a one-day shoot between July and September in Los Angeles, California. This gig is unpaid, but the winners get an amazing vacation.

“Who’s Scratching Your Back?” 

A new reality TV game show needs participants. Are you brave enough to go up to a complete stranger on the street and start scratching their back? “Who’s Scratching Your Back?” is looking for 10 “scratcher girls,” aged 18–45, for an eight-episode competition that will showcase various strengths and weaknesses. One person will win the competition and get a $1,000 grand prize. Shoot dates are TBD in Miami, Florida. The duration will likely be one day a week for 5 hours a day.

Casting Superfans of Pitbull

Are you a big fan of the superstar Pitbull? A major broadcast TV network is on the hunt for die-hard Pitbull fans of all genders, aged 18 and older. You’ll have the chance to spend the day with your music idol while competing against other fans for a grand prize. Shooting takes place in L.A. at the end of April.

Iain Stirling’s “CelebAbility”

Casting is underway for “CelebAbility,” a physical, comedy game where teams of three go up against celebrities in a series of funny games with the chance to win a cash prize. Casting contestants of all genders, aged 18–30, to participate on a team of three. Shooting takes place in Hertfordshire, UK in May.

Play-Doh Squished with Host Sarah Hyland

A new competition series needs talent. The show follows contestants as they compete in a number of challenges involving Play-Doh. The show is seeking teams of four, two adults and two children, aged 9–12, to sculpt Play-Doh for the chance to win cash prizes. Shooting takes place between June 13–July 1 in the L.A. area. Contestants are unpaid, but have the opportunity to win money.
