“Shazam! Fury of the Gods”
Holy moley, filming for “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is now underway in Georgia! Zachary Levi will reprise his role as Shazam with Rachel Zegler (“West Side Story”) co-starring. While the team has yet to be spotted filming on location Levi recently shared a photo to his Instagram of his new Shazam-themed sneakers—marking the official start of filming—and sharing gratitude for his friends, family, and fans. David F. Sandberg, who will return to direct, also marked the beginning of filming with a post of his own on Instagram. On the cast side, Asher Angel shared a Twitter pic reuniting with co-star Jack Dylan Grazer, and Marta Milans also shared a video on her Instagram story marking her “first day of school.” This is the second long-awaited DC Comics film filming now in the Atlanta area as “Black Adam,” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, also recently kicked off its production. The screenplay for “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” was written by Henry Gayden. In addition to Levi, Zegler, Angel, Grazer, Milans, Adam Brody, and Faithe Herman, as we previously reported, Lucy Liu and Hellen Mirren will play Kalypso and Hespera, respectively. Rich Delia is the casting director. “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” is due out on June 2, 2023.
