Love ‘Gossip Girl’? Apply to These Gigs

The second season of “Gossip Girl” kicked off this December on HBO Max. With it came the opportunity for fans to follow along once again as Julien, Zoya, Kate, and the rest of New York’s young elite behave badly in great style. Executive produced by the same creators of the initial “Gossip Girl” series, the show was casting with us for Season 2 back in March. While there are no current notices, we rounded up some similar gigs for you to check out. From dramas to teen projects, these gigs need talent now. 

“Menace”

This short film about Latino and Black pro skaters from gang war zones around downtown Los Angeles is casting for its early 2023 shoot. Production is seeking a lead male actor, aged 20–30, to play Fabian. Pays a flat rate of $400 for an estimated two days of work.

“True West”

I.R.D. Productions Non-Profit Theater Organization is casting for its March run of the Sam Shepard play. Production is seeking a lead male actor, aged 18 and above, to play Austin, a lead male actor, aged 28–45, to play Lee, a supporting female actor, aged 30–45, to play Saul Kimmer, and a supporting female actor, aged 50–60, to play Mom. The play will run at the Jefferson Market Library in New York. Pays a flat rate of $300–$400.

“Common Ground”

This short film that follows an aspiring photography student who returns to his rural childhood home is casting for its February shoot in Sussex, England, United Kingdom. Production is seeking a lead male actor, aged 18–25, to play Dylan, a supporting female actor, aged 18–24, to play Fran, a supporting male actor, aged 40–60, to play Robert, and a supporting actor, aged 40–55, to play Marion. The roles of Fran, Robert, and Marion pay a flat rate of £300 for an estimated two days of work. The role of Dylan pays £300 for an estimated three days of work.

“Bday Bums”

This short film that follows a young Indian South Asian woman who meets a group of strangers at a bar on her birthday, is casting for its January shoot in New York. The production is seeking a lead female actor, aged 24–35, to play Leela. Pays $100–$150 for an estimated 10 hours of work.

“Binge”

A short film is casting for its January shoot in Los Angeles. Production is seeking a supporting female/non-binary actor, aged 23–35, to play Ava, a supporting female/non-binary actor, aged 22–35, to play Taylor, and a supporting female/non-binary actor, aged 23–36, to play Lacey. Please note that the subject matter of the film is about a binge eating disorder. Pays a flat rate of $250 for an estimated two days of work.
