For those excited about the new vampire film “Renfield”, then we have big news for you. Last week news broke that Nicolas Cage and Awkwafina will be drawing blood in the upcoming Universal Pictures project. Here’s everything we know about the film.

“Renfield” Announces Major Casting News.

Universal Pictures is drawing blood with its casting choices for the upcoming origin story “Renfield.” Both Nicolas Cage and Awkwafina joined the cast of the project last week. According to Deadline, Cage will play Dracula in the upcoming monster movie. The outlet also reports that Awkwafina has also been tapped, but there’s no word yet of what “The Farewell” star’s role will be in the film just yet. As we previously reported earlier this year, Nicholas Hoult will lead the feature as the titular Dracula henchman. While plot details are currently being kept under wraps, Deadline notes it will likely take place during present day. The project joins a high-profile slate of monster projects from the studio, including “Wolfman,” a new “Van Helsing,” and more. Chris McKay (“The Tomorrow War”) will direct from a script by Ryan Ridley, which comes from an original story idea by Robert Kirkman. Rich Delia is the film’s casting director.
