Pennyworth 3
The series telling the origin story of Batman’s butler has been given a third season, with Jack Bannon returning to lead as Alfred Pennyworth. Shooting in Warner Bros. studios in Leavesden, there’s no fixed production schedule as yet but it’s likely that some or all of the Series 1 and 2 casting team will be returning. Suzanne Smith led the original casting, with the support of Sasha Robertson and Sarah Trevis. We’ll be back with more info when we have it.
Join Sope Dirisu, Joe Cole In ‘Gangs of London’ + More UK Roles Silent Witness 25
The 25th series of BBC cold case drama Silent Witness is gearing up for production, with a six-month shoot set to begin in August. Emilia Fox returns as Dr Nikki Alexander, solving impossible cases through a mixture of forensic knowledge and gut instinct. Casting director Andy Brierley is attached.
Starstruck 2
Andy Brierley is also attached to cast a second instalment of Starstruck, the Rose Matafeo-led drama about a woman living with the awkward complications of accidentally sleeping with a film star. There’s no fixed date yet, but the series is in pre-production now and likely to shoot later this year.
How to Audition for the BBC Update: Mirbat
Action thriller Mirbat has been delayed until 2022. The feature from director Tom Petch tells the true story of a secret war in 1970s Oman, as seen through the special forces unit fighting for their lives. Filming was due to kick off last year in Wales and Morocco but the whole schedule has been shifted to 2022. Casting director Kate Ringsell is still attached.
