“Magic Mike’s Last Dance” is officially in the works.
Channing Tatum has saved the last dance for us with a third “Magic Mike” movie. Tatum confirmed the news in a tweet with a picture of the script, writing, “Well world, looks like Mike Lane’s tapping back in.” The film, titled “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” will premiere on HBO Max. Steven Soderbergh is also back to direct, as is Reid Carolin to write. Little is known about the project at this point, but judging by the title, it will be the last in the franchise as we know it. The previous film, “Magic Mike XXL,” came out in 2015 and starred Tatum, Joe Manganiello, Matt Bomer, Kevin Nash, Matthew McConaughey, Amber Heard, and more. The first franchise entry, “Magic Mike,” came out in 2012. Carmen Cuba has been the casting director for both previous features.
