Side by side by Sondheim
If you’ve not seen Marianne Elliot’s gender-swapping version of Sondheim’s Company then get a move on. It closes at the end of March but if you buy a ticket for Monday’s show you also get into a Q&A with Elliot, star Rosalie Craig, and Broadway legend Patti LuPone. (Assorted prices)

Hear about heartbreak
Book ahead for a chance to hear actor Charlotte Rampling talk about her new film, Hannah at the BFI Southbank on 26 February. Described as a “heartbreaking study of a woman disintegrating,” Rampling won the Best Actress Award at Venice for the role. A rare chance to hear one of cinema’s celebrated talents. (£18)

Harness your creativity
East London plays host to a week-long festival promising to explore “the many aspects of heartbreak.” Sounds fun! From burlesque and drag to art installations and spoken word performances, the festival hopes to showcase the power of creativity when it comes to understanding love in all its forms. 14 February will be “celebrated” with an “anti-Valentine’s extravaganza.” (Assorted prices)

Dance the night away
Sometimes, even the most dedicated actor needs to let their hair down. Why not channel your inner Heather Graham in Boogie Nights and get down to London’s newest hip attraction, the Roller Disco in Bruce Grove. Fancy fun on four wheels to a pumping disco beat? Then this is for you! (From £10)

Join a very British tradition
If you agree that creativity comes in all shapes and forms then we’ve got a proposition for you: The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition started in 1769 and is the world’s largest open-submission art show. Every year, thousands of unknown artists submit their work; the deadline for this year is Wednesday, so why not get creative! (£35)
