Greenlit means a project is officially a go, so all you have to do is follow these leads to stay up to date. You never know where you’ll find an opportunity to land an audition!

“Poker Face”
Natasha Lyonne will show her “Poker Face,” on Peacock, where she is teaming up with “Knives Out” writer-director Rian Johnson for his new mystery drama. This will mark the first TV series for Johnson, who will write, direct, and executive produce. Lyonne will also serve as an executive producer via her Animal Pictures (alongside Maya Rudolph and Danielle Renfrew Behrens). No details of the premise have been revealed, but Johnson describes it as a “fun, character-driven, case-of-the-week mystery.”

“Havoc”
Forest Whitaker is back at Netflix wreaking “Havoc.” The star will lead opposite Tom Hardy in the Netflix action-thriller directed by Gareth Evans (“The Raid”). Evans will write the flick, which is set after a drug deal gone wrong, “when a bruised detective must fight his way through a criminal underworld to rescue a politician’s estranged son while unraveling a deep web of corruption and conspiracy that ensnares his entire city.” The film falls under Evans’ exclusive deal with Netflix, which he recently signed with the streamer. No further casting has been announced.

Maya Rudolph Apple Series
Maya Rudolph, Matt Hubbard, and Alan Yang will team back up for a new series at Apple TV+. The streamer has ordered a half-hour comedy series starring Rudolph that hails from her previous “Forever” team. The series follows Molly, a woman whose seemingly perfect life is upended after her husband leaves her with nothing but $87 billion. Yang and Hubbard created the series and will serve as executive producers with Rudolph and her aforementioned Animal Pictures team co-executive producing.

“Lost City of D”
“Dolemite Is My Name” breakout star Da’Vine Joy Randolph and Daniel Radcliffe have joined the cast of Paramount’s romantic action-adventure comedy “The Lost City of D.” Randolph and Radcliffe will star with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum. The story follows “a reclusive romance novelist (Bullock) who was sure nothing could be worse than getting stuck on a book tour with her cover model (Tatum) until a kidnapping attempt sweeps them both into a cutthroat jungle adventure, proving life can be so much stranger—and more romantic—than any of her paperback fictions.” Adam and Aaron Nee are directing and working with Dana Fox on the screenplay.

“The Essex Serpent”
First reported by Variety, Tom Hiddleston is the latest to join the series adaptation of the Sarah Perry novel “The Essex Serpent” at Apple TV+. As we previously reported, the one-hour drama series has been filming in and around Alresford, Essex with Claire Danes taking over the starring role from Keira Knightly. She will play the widowed Cora, “who, having being released from an abusive marriage, relocates from Victorian London to the small village of Aldwinter in Essex, intrigued by a local superstition that a mythical creature known as the Essex Serpent has returned to the area.” Hiddleston will star as Will Ransome, the trusted leader of a small rural community. See-Saw Films (“The King’s Speech) will produce. Clio Bernard will direct with Anna Symon serving as head writer. Shaheen Baig is casting.

“Mr. Malcolm’s List”
From Hiddleston to his “Betrayal” co-star Zawe Ashton: Ashton, Theo James, and Ashley Park are the latest to join the cast of the upcoming “Mr. Malcolm’s List.” The trio joins the previously announced Frieda Pinto, Ṣọpẹ́ Dirisu, and Oliver Jackson-Cohen with Ashton replacing Constance Wu in the lead role of Julia, a society lady jilted by London’s most eligible bachelor Mr. Malcolm (Dirisu) when she fails to meet one of the items on his list of requirements for a bride. Julia enlists Selina (Pinto) to help her take revenge on Mr. Malcolm by tricking him into thinking he has found his perfect match. Production is underway in Ireland with Emma Holly Jones making her feature debut in the directing chair and Suzanne Allain adapting her own novel for the screenplay. We first reported on the feature being greenlit two years ago, expanded from the original short. Tamara-Lee Notcutt is the casting director.
