A theatre and opera company is casting for a play set in 1790s Jamaica, based around uprisings against the brutal regime of slave labour. Lead role Dawes is male, playing-age 40–77, and Black. Chloe, a troubled servant traumatised by her poor treatment, is female, playing-age 21–34, and Black. Both roles require performers who can confidently deliver Jamaican Patois. The project rehearses from 16 August and runs 7–18 September in London. Roles are paid a flat fee and the team are seeking performers based in London.
