Musical drama casting leading man who can sing
Musical drama The Red Line is casting for a male lead. The short film from students at the University of Derby follows Benedict, a retired blues performer trying to defeat his addictions and overblown ego in a last bid for fame. Lead role Benedict is male, playing age 40–60 and black. The team are searching for a performer with a rich, deep voice and previous singing experience. Student film casting in south-west
Short student film Bruiser follows Jack, a working-class lad who needs to confront being in love with his best friend before he moves away. The team is casting for a lead and two supporting roles ahead of production at the end of March. Lead role Jack is male, playing age 19–24, and any ethnicity. He’s quiet, unable to express emotions, and afraid of change. His BMX bike is his only freedom. Please note that this role requires nudity. Supporting role Mo is male, playing age 19–24 and black. The least “laddy” of his friends, he’s smart, ambitious, and has drive. He’s also chilled, non-confrontational, and able to speak his mind. This role also requires nudity.
Another supporting role, Ollie, is male, playing age 19–24 and any ethnicity. He’s boisterous and always in trouble, but caring and loyal too. Bruiser rehearses 23–29 March and shoots 30 March–5 April in Portsmouth and Worthing. Day rates are negotiable and the team are able to pay expenses. Short film Drawing Lines follows Eric as he struggles to cope with his best friend moving away for work. Lead role Eric is male, playing age 19–24 and white. He enjoys his repetitive job, is very particular about punctuality and organisation, and he struggles to cope with change. Supporting role Jamie is male, playing age 21–28 and white. Jamie is an apprentice who’s secured a well-paid job in Southampton and is about to move away. He wants a change from his routine and to make his way in the world.

WW2 drama casting in Gloucester
Second world war–set short film Sea Lion is a coming-of-age story about Patrick, a teenage boy who is faced with an impossible decision after discovering a crashed German pilot. This student project is casting in the Gloucester area for a host of roles, ahead of production in April and May. These include Patrick, a male role with a playing age of 15–18 and white. Quiet and compassionate, he’s isolated after moving from home to live with his cold uncle. Mary is female, playing age 17–19 and white. She’s a student nurse, caring for soldiers who have been sent home. Mary is close to her family but distant from her cousin Patrick after he uses Mary’s secret boyfriend against her. However, the pair bond as they work together to save the German pilot. Uncle Jack is male, playing age 43–53 and white. A first world war veteran, he’s embittered, cold, and dislikes compassion or sensitivity.
