Only the minds behind “Ted Lasso” could coax Harrison Ford into the limelight again. The veteran actor is officially making a return as he is set to star opposite Jason Segel in the upcoming Apple TV+ series “Shrinking.” Here’s everything we know about this development—including details about Ford's new role.
Harrison Ford Lands His First TV Role
After “lengthy negotiations,” according to Deadline, Harrison Ford will make his debut in his first major TV series role. The longtime actor is starring opposite Jason Segel in the upcoming Apple TV+ series “Shrinking.” As we’ve previously reported, the series will follow a grieving therapist (Segel) “who starts to break the rules and tell his clients exactly what he thinks. Ignoring his training and ethics, he finds himself making huge, tumultuous changes to people’s lives…including his own.” Ford will play Dr. Phil Rhodes, “a down-to-earth, sharp-as-a-tack ‘blue-collar shrink’” who is a pioneer in cognitive behavioral therapy. "Ted Lasso" duo Bill Lawrence and Brett Goldstein are the writers and executive producers behind the new project alongside Segel. “Shrinking” will be produced by Warner Bros. Television and Lawrence’s Doozer Productions. Debby Romano is the casting director.
